A Taste of Success

What are you growing?

From Seed: Snow Peas, Snap Peas, Carrots, Onions, Radishes, Zinnias. Sunflowers

From Transplant: Broccoli, Jalapeno Peppers, and Red Chili Peppers

What have you been doing to maintain garden?

Just watering and weeding. I haven't added anything to the soil at all.

What are you enjoying the most about gardening?

Coming outside and getting to have a focus on the plants. I feel like the next steps are to do some clean-up and beautification of the yard. It would be great to get some benches out here by the garden.

What challenges have you encountered?

At first packing in the water was a hassle, but we've rigged up a pretty effective bucket system. I've had some resistance from the older boys to participate, but generally it has been going really well.

What or who has been the biggest help in your gardening success?

I think the raised-bed box has been the biggest help. It makes it so much easier to deal with weeds.
